Nov. 2009 Report on the Future of Sharp Park

After months of study and public input, the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department has released its proposal regarding the future of golf at Sharp Park. The report's recommendations are positive for both golfers and endangered species. In short, the proposal recommends retaining Sharp Park as an 18-hole course with modifications to certain holes to protect the habitat of the San Francisco garter snake and the Red Legged frog.

The San Francisco Chronicle published a summary of the report on November 6.

While this report is most welcome, friends of golf still have much work ahead to help the City and County of San Francisco keep Sharp Park an accessible 18-hole treasure.  Those who want Sharp Park bulldozed will lobby and fight against this proposal.  Please join our mailing list and donate (links on the right) to support the Alliance's efforts to preserve affordable, eco-friendly golf for future generations
